We have conducted intensive rawinsonde campaigns at Kototabang, West Sumatera Indonesia (100.32E, 0.20S, 865mMSL) since 1998, and observed events of dry intrusion at least three times. Dry intrusion is the event which extremely dry air is intruded by lateral advection, and it has been recognized since TOGA-COARE campaign. An important feature of the dry air events is strong suppression of convection. We present observed common features of dry intrusions at Kototabang.
