Landscape heterogeneities can be the cause of non-linearity of processes of water and energy cycles which is not always taken into account in the present-day hydrological and climatic models of different levels due to lack of experimental data on spatial-temporal distribution of characteristics of permafrost landscapes important for hydroclimatic regime. The some of results of experimental work on study of important for hydroclimatic regime characteristics of permafrost landscapes of Eastern Siberia subarctic tundra (neighborhoods of Tiksi where one of three experimental areas of the Siberian GAME subproject is situated) are presented. The approach is based on idea about elementary homogeneous sites (EHS), which are characterized by similar type of relief, soil and vegetation cover, character of active layer and similar type of intrannual changes of elements of water and energy cycles and properties of active layer. During 1997-2001 in some homogeneous areas and their complexes (within the limits of small river basins) field measurements was carried out. Measurements of moisture content of seasonally-thawed layer, thermo- and waterphysical characteristics and depth of seasonal thawing have been fulfilled by ground measurements. In 1999-2001 remote measurements were fulfilled with the help of a complex of equipment from board MI-8 helicopter from a height of 400-2000 m along special routes. The equipment complex includes: spectrometer recording reflecting characteristics of underlying surface in absolute values of spectral density of energy brightness within 0.4 – 0.85 (m electromagnetic wave band with 450 spectral channels; digital videocamera working in RGB channels; radiometer working over 8-14 (m band. It will be presented results of studies on: spatial differentiation of homogeneous areas within Suonannaakh river basin and their physical properties (thawed layer thickness, hydrophysical characteristics of seasonally-thawed layer, albedo, temperature of land surface and etc) are presented.
