Simulation of energy and water fluxes using a one-dimensional model in eastern Siberia

Takeshi YAMAZAKI (1), Hironori YABUKI (2)

A one-dimensional model, which was presented in Yamazaki (2001) to estimate water and energy fluxes over a ground in particular in intensely cold regions, has been applied to GAME-Siberia plain taiga sites in 2000. In GAME-Siberia, 2000IOP has been carried on left-side bank and right-side bank of Lena river near Yakutsk. For left-side bank, it is simulated to larch and pine forest sites. Model parameters except plant area index and soil parameters in the pine site are tentatively set to the same as 1998 simulation at the larch site. Diurnal and seasonal changes of fluxes are simulated reasonably. However, for the larch site, heat flux into the ground is less and sensible heat is more through the simulated period compared with 1998. It is found that discrepancy of latent heat between both sites in spring because of the differece of deciduous or evergreen forest. In snowmelt season, the snow cover disappears earlier in the model calculation. This tendency is same as the result of 1998. It will be studied what kind of parameters defines energy and water fluxes with use of the model including right-side bank (young larch forest).
