Monsoon Simulation by using CCSR/NIES GCM

Akimasa Sumi (1), X.Shen (2)

Impact of the land surface processes on the Asian Monson is one of the objectives in the GAME(GEWEX Asian Monsoon Experiment). Especially, land -atmosphere interaction iover the complex land surface semms to be important. Here, we will pay an attention to the atmosphere- terrain interaction over the complex topography. For this purpose, the 1998 Asian Monson is simulated by using the CCSR/NIES AGCM. We used two different horizontal resolution (T42 and T106 ) and monthly averaged value over 5 degree by 5 degree domain are compared. Some difference is noted, but in general the diffrence is not so large, except in the region of the north-western part of India. However, this large difference is associated with the change of large-scale atmospheric flow.
