PRESENT-DAY VARIATIONS OF AIR TEMPERATURE IN YAKUTIA

Skachkov Yury Borisovich (1)

An investigation of temporal series of mean annual air temperature for the last 30 years has been conducted based on data from 112 weather stations of Yakutia. Linear trends of mean annual air temperature were calculated; on their base two maps of air temperature increase for various periods were composed. Global warming which b„ugun in late 1960-s in the most part of the Northern Hemisphere, has touched upon the territory of Yakutia as well. The initial warming period (1966-1989) considered as „p relatively stable in the area is characterized by „p virtually zonal distributions of air temperature increase. Herewith, the largest increase values (1‹C and more) were observed in Central and Southern Yakutia. The temperature increase is less to the North. Air temperature trends were negative in the Laptev Sea coastal area, island stations and in the NW of Yakutia. Climate warming process became more pronounced in the 1990-s. „@ 30-year data analysis shows that air temperature increase appears around the whole territory of Yakutia with „p variable temporal range: an air temperature increase south of 64‹ N latitude is 1,5-2‹C and more; and 0,5-1‹C in the NW and NE of Yakutia.
