Analyze of Wind Field using VAP Method for a Cumulostratus Weather during the GAME-Tibet,IOP

In the paper, the wind fields of a cumulostratus weather at September 1,1998, during the GAME-Tibet(IOP-Intensive Observation Period), is estimated and analyzed. Because the convective activity is dominating at Tibetan Plateau, the VAP(Velocity Azimuth Processing) method is better than other method(example, the VVP method and the VPP method) for estimate the wind field from single-Doppler radial velocity data popularly. In this weather process, contains wind shear and vortex, they were brought by convergence. Two different and opposite cell encountered and conduced birth of wind shear, accumulative energy came of convergence reduced another vortex. VAP method is helpful to estimate and analyze wind field from single Doppler radar radial velocity data, it may give probable wind field structure to explore development and die out of cloud.
