The Impact of ENSO Phenomena from 1997-2000 on Thailand Climate

Tropical Cyclones phenomena over Thailand and neighboring areas during 1997-2000 had been examined and investigated. Besides the ENSO phenomena from 1997 to 2000 on Thailand had also been analysed and indepth studied. Encouraging result of ELNINO and LANINA year will be discussed and demonstrated. The association of tropical cyclone activities with the impact of ENSO phenomena in 1997-2000 on Thailand climate will be presented and discussed.
Detail analyses indicating the year of drought in 1997 and dry year in 1998 as well as the very wet weather year in 1999 on Thailand climate are closely related with tropical cyclone phenomena in the South China Sea as well as those over the Western North Pacific Ocean with moving westward into South China Sea. Tropical cyclone tracks and monsoon wind system as well as their associated nationwide damages will be presented. Som selected cases of the adverse weather event will be shown. Further detail study for the above aspects on Thailand climate and their related weather systems had also been made and will be presented.
